Myrtle Foncille Bassett Roling of Austin, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at her home.
Foncille, born in De Leon, Texas, was a woman of great faith who encouraged others to seek Jesus in all they do.
Foncille was married to Gaston Bassett in De Leon in February 1945. They had one son, Bruce Bassett.
Foncille was an inspiration in her community for many years. Foncille and Gaston were founding members of Plymouth Park Baptist Church, Irving, Texas, mentoring young married couples and serving as leaders in the church for many years before Gaston's death in 1985. Foncille taught Sunday school for 15 years, a group she fondly called her "Little Ole Ladies".
After her marriage to James Roling in 1990, they continued to serve faithfully as members at Plymouth Park. Foncille worked at Irving Independent School District as a financial administrator from 1967 to 1990.
