Mrs. Cora G. Bridges, 84, died today at 7:15a.m. at Shelby Convalescent Center after several years of declining health and one week of serious illness.
A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Alice Crook Gilbert and the widow of Oscar Quinn Bridges.
She was a retired employee of Cleveland Cloth Mills and a member of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clyde M.Ledbetter and Mrs. Ed Gibson of Shelby and Mrs. J. A. McSwain Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
