Mrs. Swit Boom Buried Last Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Swit Boom were held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday of last week at the Amack & Son Funeral Chapel in Red Cloud with Rev. Gertrude McCallum of the Cowles Methodist Church in Charge. Pallbearers were Clay Bietler, Glen Thomas, Glen Post, Ernest Terrill, Fred Kudrna and John Rasser. Mrs. Clarence Andresen of Bladen sang “Asleep in Jesus,” “No Night There” and “Lead Kindly Light” with Mrs. Clay Beitler of Cowles accompanying.

Alma Freda Giger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Giger, was born near Steinauer, Nebr., September 29, 1895. When a small child she moved with her family to a farm north of Guide Rock where she grew to womanhood.

On January 21, 1925 she was united in marriage to Swit Boom of Cowles. They made their home on his farm near Cowles until the time of her death.

She was a member of the Methodist church of Cowles and attended whenever possible.

During her long illness she was always cheerful and was a patient sufferor (sic). She was a devoted wife and a willing worker in her home until the time of her affliction. She passed away at her home on January 11, 1947 at the age of 51 years 3 months and 12 days. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, one brother, Gus Giger of Blue Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Gragert of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Ray Arnold of Trumbull; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.—Guide Rock Signal.
