Celebration of life services for Jane Giddens, 85, of Lubbock will be held at 2 pm Monday, January 31, 2011 in Resthaven Funeral Home's Mausoleum Chapel.

Mrs. Giddens died January 28, 2011. Ivy Jane was born to Daniel and Connie (Tucker) Musgrave in Sanderson, Texas on December 23, 1925. She was raised as an authentic cowgirl in the ranching areas of the Big Bend and Alpine, Texas. Jane was a wartime bride, marrying W. T. (Jack) Giddens in Marfa, Texas on July 3, 1942. She was a long time resident of Sundown, Texas, and in later years a resident of Ruidoso, NM, Alpine and Lubbock, Texas.

Jane was an avid reader, gifted writer, dabbled in art, enjoyed playing music and bingo.

Graduating from Jesse Lee Hair Design Institute with highest honors, she worked as a hairdresser and in later years as a phlebotomist.

Jane is survived by two sons, W. T. (Butch) Giddens and wife Janice, of Lubbock; Ted Giddens and wife, Terri, of Canyon; one daughter, Janie Rogers and husband, C.L., of Lubbock; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie Baker, Buffy and Chad Landrum, Monti and Crag Smith, Toby Giddens, Tory and Kedra Giddens, and Tristi Giddens. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren, Zack Baker, Madelyn Gunn, Raedon Smith, Briley and Cade Landrum, Abigail, Nathan, Luke and Hannah Giddens; and a sister-in-law- and husband, Ella and Alton Burnett of Sundown, numerous nieces and nephews, and the loving staff and caregivers of the Plaza of Lubbock.
Jane was the last living Musgrave of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Alonzo, Daniel, Joe, and Bill Tom Musgrave and one sister, Peggy Burling. Also preceding her in death were husband, Wilmer (Jack) Giddens, one nephew, Bud Burling and one grand-son-in law, Michael Gunn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
