Marihelen Louise (Gibson) Anesi went home to be with God on Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she was living for the last 11 months.
She was born May 29, 1926 in Douglass, Kansas to Ward and Alberta Louise Woody Gibson. She was raised on the family farm in Douglass and graduated from Douglass High School in Douglass, Kansas.
After moving to Bartlesville she went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company where she worked for 25 years and took early retirement due to health reasons. She was a member of the Jane Phillips Sorority.
The family resided in Copan, Oklahoma, where her children, Denny Williams and Charlene Louise Williams Vance were raised. The family moved to Dewey where her third child, LaVonne Anesi Stickrod was raised and where Marihelen resided until December, 2011.
She was an avid collector of antiques and shared this passion with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Town and Country Christian Church where she was a member of a Sunday school class and the church. For several decades she was dedicated to the feeding and caring of multitudes of feral cats in her neighborhood.
She is survived by her children, Denny Williams and his wife, Bonnie of Tulsa, Charlene Vance and her husband, Don Niederbuhl of Broken Arrow; LaVonne Stickrod and her husband, Warren of Edmond. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jennifer Vance Sanchez and her husband, Renato, of Broken Arrow; Sara Vance of Tulsa, Brooke Gregory Lewis and her husband, Damon of Owasso, Fonda Coleman Flynn and her husband, Kaipo of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Zackary Stickrod of Stillwater.
She is also survived by four great-grandsons: Malik Omar Vance of Broken Arrow, Ashur Gregory Lewis and Aiden Maddox Lewis of Owasso and Ryker Lee Flynn of Edmond; and one great-granddaughter, Mia Ann Vance of Broken Arrow.
Her service will be conducted Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in Bartlesville at the Town and Country Christian Church, at 616 NE Washington Blvd. She will be interred at the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family
asks that donations be made to the Town and Country Christian Church 616 NE Washington Blvd. Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006 or SPCA 16620 State Highway 123, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003 in her name.
