Luella Gibson Baird, born Dec 19, 1893 at Mill Creek, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. Daughter of Tom Gibson and Elizabeth McCoy Gibson of Mill Creek. Her father and mother were farmers in the Mill Creek vicinity. Her father became sheriff in the Mill Creek area for a time and served at the Carter Ranch as foreman. From this hardy line, Luella gained her strength which carried her 97 years.

Mrs Baird came to Oklahoma City in 1919 with her husband, George L Baird, upon his military discharge and employment by Liberty National Bank. Homemaker, mother and faithful Red Cross volunteer, Mrs Baird was most importantly a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and single great great grandchild. They loved her greatly in exchange.

Mrs Baird's greatest love was crochet and handwork, which she continued to actively perform even to her last day. One knew Luella was expressing affection when she gave you a handmade potholder. Mrs Baird was a member of St Luke's United Methodist Church for sixty-five years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; and five brothers and sisters; her grandson, Martin Baird Decker; and son-in-law, L Melvin Decker.
