Hiram A. Gibson married Frances L. Rogers 7/8/1858 in Muscogee County, Georgia.
Hiram A. Gibson, 74, a veteran of the Civil War died this morning of typhoid fever. He had been a resident of Columbus since 1848. He was in the 12th GA Regt., captured at Manassas and imprisoned at Elmira, NY until the close of the War.

Mr. H. A. Gibson Was Laid to Rest ~
The funeral of Mr. Hiram A. Gibson whose death occurred Saturday morning, took place Sunday afternoon at four o'clock from his late residence, No. 1128 Seventieth street, conducted by Rev. J.G. Harrison, of the Broad Street M.E. Church. The members of Camp Benning U.C.V., of which the deceased was a member attended the funeral in a body. The interment was at Linwood cemetery. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Messrs. J.B. Day, C.F. Pekor, J.L. Treadaway, D.D. Bartlett, S.D. Wright, and G.W. Blakely.
