Bonnie R. Gibson, 85, formerly of Bellmead, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in Hillsboro. Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 30, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Lester Adams officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 29, at Bellmead Funeral Home.
Bonnie was born in West, Texas, to the late John Q. and Willie Viola (Cox) Smith. She was a homemaker, a past member of Bellmead First Baptist Church and the Sul Ross Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V.O. Gibson; a daughter, Sandra Orwan in 2009; and brother, Billie Smith in 2010.
Survivors include her daughter, Carla Kearns, of Georgetown; step-daughters, Rojean Gibson, of Bellmead, and Renee Harrison, of Arlington; stepson, Mark Gibson, of Waco; grandchildren, Richard Johnston and Ronald Johnston; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Willmer and husband, Bob, of Arkansas; and many other family members, and numerous friends.
