Lauretta O. FIELDS
Mother Lauretta O. Fields Daughter of the late Oliver Gibbs and the late Rose Hammond was born September 28, 1942 in Elkton, MD. She departed this life on Thursday, January 20, 2000 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia at age 57.
Mother Fields received her early education at Washington Carver High where she graduated in 1962. She worked at RMR Corporation and then the Cecil County Board of Education as a teacher's aide and librarian for 24 years. She was a member of Christ Unity Center, Inc. where she was president of missionary. She truly loved the Lord and leading others on the path of righteousness, showing love to all she encountered. She loved to cook and shop. She was the kind of woman whom you just had to love. She had a winning personality and a smile that would light up your darkest night.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Pastor James Albert Fields, Sr.; children, Vanessa E. Price of Elkton, Justina A. Banks of North East, MD, Revella J. Wiggins of New Castle, DE, Loretta E. Flowers and Angela B. Fields, both of Elkton, James O., Jr. of Columbia, MD, William E. of Baltimore and Randolph D. of Newark; stepfather, Paul C. Hammond, Jr. of Elkton; brothers, Bryant T. Wilson and Paul C. Hammond, III, both of Elkton, Gary L. Wilson of Baltimore; and sister, Betty McManus of Wilmington; 1 daughter-in-law; 3 sons-in-law; 13 grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon Tues., Jan. 25 at First Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, Booth St., Elkton. Visitation after 10 am. Interment: Bohemia Manor Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Unity Center, Inc. Building Fund, 126 Independence Dr., Elkton, MD 21921.
