She was a native of Henderson County and a 60-year resident of Asheville. She was the wife of the late Howard L. Gibbs, and the daughter of the late J. Hix Jones and Nettie Arledge Jones. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alby Jones, Lowell Jones and Jack C. Jones; and two sisters, Beulah Phillips and Virginia Drake.
She was a lifelong homemaker and worked during the 1950's at Quality Bakery in West Asheville. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
