COL (Ret) Bruce H. Gibbons of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 77. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, June 30 at Sorrells Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2 pm (EST) Thursday, July 1 in Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Coffee County Gideons, P.O. Box 310173, Enterprise, AL 36331-0173. COL (Ret) Gibbons was born February 14, 1933 in East Tawas, MI to the late Albert and Ruby Laidlaw Gibbons and affectionately raised by the late Owen and Nina Noffsinger of Pinconning, MI. He had a distinguished military career of 30 years and is being buried with full military honors. He was a member of the Fort Rucker Main Post Protestant Chapel. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Chris Gibbons, Enterprise, AL; 2 sons: David Bruce Gibbons, Orlando, FL, Keith Alan Gibbons (Tiffany), Orlando, FL; 1 daughter, Lori Jarrett (Buddy), Ardmore, TN; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise, (334) 347-9598, is in charge of arrangements.
