Genevieve T. (Giamatti) Lauter, of Wethersfield, widow of Frank J. Lauter, Jr., died Friday, (September 21, 2001) at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Carmine and Lucy (Avitabile) Giamatti, and lived in this area all of her life.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Aetna Life Insurance Co. of Hartford. She was a member of the Old Elm Senior Center of Wethersfield, and the Retiree's Club of the Aetna Life Insurance Co.

She leaves two sisters, Louise Testa of Enfield, and Anna Schnetzler of Hartford. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Florence Giamatti of Newington, and Dorothy Giamatti of Key West, FL; two nephews, John Testa of Enfield, and Nicholas Giamatti of Key West, FL; and two nieces, Janine Giamatti of Hartford and Lucy Kinane of Newington. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Andrew Giamatti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 25 at 11 a.m. in St. Luke Church, Bolton St., Hartford. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
