Ruby Emma (Reisch) Gerszewski, 84, of Blackduck, died September 9, 2004 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
She was born June 2, 1920 in Barrows to William and Rose (Scofield) Ferdig. She married Cyrus Reisch in O'Brien Township June 28, 1938. They farmed in O'Brien and Quiring Townships until his death in July 1969.
She moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1969, working at the University of North Dakota as a custodian.
She married Jerome Gerszewski June 4, 1971. They lived in Grand Forks and worked at the university until retirement in 1982 when they moved back to Quiring Township.
They enjoyed traveling and attending polka fests. Her husband died in July of 1996. She remained in her home, an active member of the Patchwork Pals homemaker group. She enjoyed feeding the birds, deer, and other wildlife that came to her yard.
She is survived by three sons, Norman (Judy) Reisch of Everett, Washington, Dean (Judy) Reisch of Blackduck, and Allen (Ginny) Reisch of Tenstrike; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Leo (Blanche) Ferdig of Blackduck; one sister, Olive Hendrickson of South St. Paul; and sister-in-laws, Thora Ferdig of Bemidji, Ione Korynta of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Geraldine (Lude) Suda of Grafton, North Dakota, and Amelia Gerszewski of Ardoch, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; an infant son, Dale Reisch; six brothers, Earl, Albert, Clarence, Ervin, Raymond, and Harold; and two sisters Bessie Sorenson and Mabel Carter.
