JAKE GERSHON
(Norman, Oklahoma)

Died on May 21 at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 72. Funeral services were conducted by Rabbi Hilel Rudavsky of Norman in the Hahn-Cook Funeral Chapel in Oklahoma City on May 23. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Oklahoma City.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Rose Smolin, Norman, with whom he made his home; Mrs. Anna Fertig, also of Norman, and Mrs. Bertie Krisman, Tulsa; a son Morris Gershon, Stillwater, and five grandchildren.

A native of Russia, Gershon came to the United States in 1907. He settled in Oklahoma City in 1910 and operated a grocery there for about 30 years. He moved to Norman in 1942.

Funeral services for Jake Gershon, 72, who died Friday night at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., will take place Monday in Oklahoma City.

Mr. Gershon, who was 72, was the father of Mrs. Barney Smolin, 1050 Elmwood St., and had been living with living with the Smolins until going to Mayo's recently.

Burial will follow services in Oklahoma City. Time of the funeral was not announced.

Other survivors Include two daughters: Mrs. H. S. Fertig, 933 S. Lahoma, and Mrs. J. M. Krisman, Tulsa, and a son, Morris Gershon, living in Stillwater.

The Smolins will not open their store, Bonney's, Monday.
