Death: Mar. 25, 2009

Hillard Gerhardt, age 82, a resident of New Mexico since 1961, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
Hillard is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Annie Gerhardt of Cedar Crest, grandchildren, Johnathan Gerhardt and wife, Magdalena, Hillari Straba and Lizzy Straba, three great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque, brothers, Rudolph Gerhardt and Edgar Gerhardt and his wife, Dottie of Boonville, MO.
Mr. Gerhardt was preceded in death by his son, Larry Gerhardt and daughter, Shirley Straba.
After retiring, Hillard continued to enjoy his passion for woodworking as a member of New Mexico Woodturners. Mr. Gerhardt was a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepard.
Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel on Monday, March 30, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepard, 7834 Tennyson Dr. NE. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Church of the Good Shepard, 7834 Tennyson Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122.
