Killbuck -- Shirley L. Allison, 74, of Killbuck, died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2008, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a brief illness. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m., at Killbuck United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roberta Fuller officiating. There will be no calling hours and Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is handling arrangements. Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Killbuck United Methodist Memorial Fund. She was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Trail, and was the daughter of Elbert and Niva (Hostetler) Gerber. On May 8, 1954, she married John P. Allison and he survives. She was a secretary for Wooster Brass, was co-owner of Killbuck Elevator Inc., and worked 11 years for the Holmes County Home, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Killbuck United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a member of the choir. She was a volunteer at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg and a member of Millersburg Order of Eastern Star. Surviving in addition to her husband, are four children and their spouses, John Jr. and Margie Allison of Killbuck, Rick and Tami Allison of Killbuck, Lori and Brian Carpenter of Killbuck, and Jolene and Kevin Ross of Smithville; 13 grandchildren, Jenny (Heath) Wolfe, Rocky Hammons, Ben, Bethany, Jodi and Abbie Allison, Jamie (Don) Sours, Bobb, Robyn, and Rochelle Graves, Robert Ross, and Brad and Shay Carpenter; 10 great-grandchildren; and four brothers and their spouses, Dean and Marlene Gerber of Sugarcreek, Keith and Jean Gerber of Sugarcreek, Bill and Carol Gerber of New Philadelphia, and Terry and Debbie Gerber of Sugarcreek. She was preceded in death by her parents.
