Sara L. Anderson, 81, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, April 17, 2014.

She was born August 19, 1932 in Blakely, Georgia to Earl and Mary Ellis George.
She was reared and received her education in Georgia, earning a Business degree from the University of Georgia.

She married William T. Anderson, a naval officer, May 2, 1954 in Cuthbert, Georgia and became very active in the Navy League, motherhood and church.

Mrs. Anderson was well known as "Miss Sara" of "Miss Sara's Boutique" of Pine Bluff. She was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Anderson was involved in many civic organizations, especially the DuBocage Chapter of ABWA. She was also the Welcome Wagon Lady for Pine Bluff in the 1970s.

"Miss Sara" was a loving devoted wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Mary Frances Moore, Ruth Ann Cherry and Earl George, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, William T. "Bill" Anderson; sons, William T. "Billy" Anderson, Jr. (Carolyn) and Reverend Roberts A. Anderson (Karen); grandchildren, Joel Anderson, Alexa Anderson, Bradley Jackson and Amy Kell; great-grandchildren, Hannah Jackson and Avery Kell; sister-in-law, Evelyn George; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Susan Carter Wiggins and Reverend Roberts A. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time in McColgan Hall of First Presbyterian Church. Miss Sara will be in state Monday evening at Robinson's.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Angels, 3801 S. Camden Road, Suite 12, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603; or First Presbyterian Church, 717 West 32nd Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
