HOPE -- Funeral services for Oleta M. Elliott, 98, of Hope, Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Hope, with the Rev. Justin Panzer officiating. Mrs. Elliott passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Medicalodge in Herington.
She was born July 23, 1915, in Hansford, Texas, the daughter of Oscar [Samuel] and Mary [E.] (Miller) Howard.
Oleta was a homemaker and worked for many years at First National Bank of Hope until she retired. She worked many volunteer hours at the Hope Community Museum, where she was a past board member.
Oleta married Frank C. Elliott in 1933 in Garden City. In 1947, they moved to Dayton, east of Elmo, where they farmed until Frank passed away in 1964.
Survivors include two sons, Dick and wife Naverta, of Hope, and Frank and wife Mary, of Topeka; six grandchildren; 14 great-grand- children; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; two brothers, Jack and Tom; three sisters, Juanita, Shirley and Mary Lou; and her parents.
Oleta's final resting place will be in Banner Cemetery near Elmo. Family visitation Jan 14 at the funeral home.
