Married 1878 in Log Church, Osage Mission, Ks Catherine O'Grady. Eight children were born to this union.
Leopold George who had lived 78 of his almost 100 years in this vicinity, died at 5 a.m. today at his home. He had been in failing health for the past three months. George who lived with his daughter, Mrs. Frances Bradshaw, would have been 100 on Nov. 15 1950.
The retired farmer was thought to be the oldest resident of Neosho County. Born in Sheldon, N.Y., he came to St. Paul in 1872. After retirement from farming the pioneer served for more than 15 years as sexton of St. Francis Cemetery where he will be buried. Widely known, George retained a keen mind in his late years and greatly enjoyed chats with youngesters.
Funeral services are to be at St. Francis Church at 9 a.m. Monday.
