Fred F. George 89, a lifetime resident of the Erie area, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1976 at his home. He suffered a heart attack. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed George he was born Sept. 28, 1886 at Erie. He and Edith Heady were married Dec. 24, 1907. She survives at the home. The couple spent most of their marrried life on a farm two miles northwest of Erie, moving to town in 1958. Mrs. Dorothy Blain, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbears were Jerry Pierce, Eddie Hazen, Tim Johnson, Bill George, Dale George, and Johnnie Phelps. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Helen Hines, Mrs. Junior Currie, Mrs. Ralph Janssen and Mrs. George Richard. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Erie Christain Church with Rev. Fred Jordan officiating. Burial was in East Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Pierce Funeral Home.
