Billy R. Gentry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather died unexpectedly at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, July 6, 2012. He was 61 years, 3 months, and 11 days old. Billy was born March 25, 1951 in Tulsa to Robert Gentry and Bonnie (Morton) Gentry who have both preceded him in death.
On August 31, 1974 he married Sandra Lee Tuttle and they raised three children. Billy was an automobile mechanic and at the time of his death was in the process of rebuilding a 1939 coop. His favorite thing in the whole world was being a "Papa" to his nine grandchildren; he loved them and was a good grandfather. Billy, ever the jokester, enjoyed making people laugh and everywhere he went he left others smiling. He always had something to say. Billy was of the Christian faith and a member of Salina First Indian Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; son; two daughters; brother; and the nine grandchildren whom it treasured so much.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 1 to 7 pm at Add'Vantage Funeral Service, 9761 E 31st St., Tulsa.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am Wednesday at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, 1100 N 5th St., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma. Pastor Joey Griffith will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Gary Kelley's Add'Vantage Funeral and Cremation Service.
