Carmella C. Genovese (nee Gallucci) on Monday, September 15, 2014. Age 101.

Beloved wife of the late John A. Genovese. Devoted mother of Joseph A. Genovese (Alice) of Williamstown, NJ; Theresa McElroy (Charles) of Hallsville, TX; Thomas A. Genovese (Maria) of Glassboro, NJ; and Louise P. Berry (late William) of Hallsville, TX. Grandmother of Joseph Jr., Michael, Steven, Francis, Patricia, John, Charles, John II, Carmella, Thomas Jr., Justina, and Christina and Step-grandmother of Dawn, Kim, Joe, and Ryan. Great-grandmother and Great-great-grandmother of many. Sister of Josephine Mariano of Camden and Antoinette Ciferati of Kentucky. Cousin of Mary Gallucci and the late Anthony Gallucci of Cherry Hill. Daughter of the late Giovanni and Theresa (nee Rico) Gallucci.

Carmella was born on January 15, 1913 in Camden and has been a resident of Glassboro for the past 80 years. She began working at Campbell's Soup at the age of 13 where she met her eventual husband who she married on August 23, 1934. Carmella worked later as a seamstress for Modern Garment for many years and finally as a matron for the Glassboro Board of Education for 26 years until her retirement at the age of 87. She was an active member of Saint Bridget's Church in Glassboro including the Alter & Rosary Society and Lady of Mount Carmel Society. Carmella enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, canning, and most importantly caring for her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church of Saint Bridget, 125 Church Street, Glassboro, NJ 08028. Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Interment Saint Bridget's Cemetery, Glassboro. Arrangements under the direction of the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME.
