Birth: Jun. 1, 1935

Death: Jul. 4, 1998
Wayne County
Michigan, USA

Thomas was the son of Frederick E. and Eva A. (Dunn) Geisler.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on 2 Sep 1952 and was discharged 29 Sep 1956. In 1954, he was beaten (assailants and reason unknown) and left for dead. His head injuries were so severe, that they did not know if he would live or die. He spent the remainder of his service time in the military hospital. He was discharged with only a 20% disability and would continue to have Epilepsy for the rest of his life.

Tom fought the military board for 30 years, and in 1983, with the help of The Purple Heart was granted 100% disability.

On 3 Aug 1968, in Wayne, Wayne Co., Michigan, he married Pauline June "Polly" Boully. This was the first marriage for Tom and third for Polly. They had no children together, but Tom helped to raise Polly's minor child from a previous marriage and was like a father to her other adult children.

He owned a gas station at the corner of Inkster Road and Eureka, Romulus, Michigan. He later went to work at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, as a Janitor, until his Epilepsy prevented it.

Tom, "Popa" as he was called by his step-children and step-grandchildren, was a wonderful, loving and kindhearted man. He would do anything for his "kids" and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband to his Polly and spoiled her whenever he could.

Tom died at Veterans Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, of cancer. He went in on a Tuesday and died Saturday. We all believe that he knew he had cancer, but did not want to let Polly know, as she was very ill with heart problems.

Seventeen years today Popa. We think of you often and still laugh over the funny things that you did or said. You have left your love for us all.
