Clara Gehrig was born in Muenster June 14, 1913 to William and Katie Neices Gehrig. She married Steve Fette on June 13, 1935. She with the help of a friend Bernard Schumacher, was trying to contact her husband who was fishing on Red River to let him know that his sister, Mrs Herbert Meurer was seriously burned in a fire at her home. The plane clipped a cable that was spanning the river and went down killing both people.
Mrs Fette is survived by her husband, her mother Katie Gehrig, her brother George Gehrig, and 4 sisters, Leona Eberhart, Alvina Hellman, Emma Lou Hess of Muenster and Virginia Carter of Lubbock.
