Albert Charles Gehrig, Oct. 24, 1923 - Nov. 4, 2011, resident of San Jose, was born in Waco, Texas moved to Los Angeles in 1942 and enlisted in the US Navy. He attended Woodbury College and married Norma Mikus on May 8, 1954 in Pennsylvania. Albert began his career with State Board of Equalization in 1956. He retired as District Administrator from the San Jose office in 1986. He loved travel and visited all 50 states and 5 continents. His friends include members of The Gold Nuggets Square Dance Club, the Southside Senior Center, Church of the Chimes and Faith Lutheran Church. He was an accomplished flutist. Preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ruth (Joseph Meder) and Crystal (William Phillips), his nephew, Joseph Charles Meder. Survived by his bride of 57 years, and 3 children, Elizabeth, Kenneth and Keith and his faithful Welsh Corgi, Chillie. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice. Albert's choices, State Railroad Museum in Sacramento or The Salvation Army. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, November 20 @ 2:30pm at Church of the Chimes, 1447 Bryan Avenue.
