Blanche M. Gaumond January 22, 1922 - February 6, 2009 LISBON - Blanche M. Gaumond 87, of 537 River Rd., died Friday afternoon at her home. She was born in Baltic on January 22, 1922 the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche (Dugas) Gauvin. She attended St. Joseph School in Baltic. Blanche was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Taftville. She was a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. She belonged to many groups; the Ladies of St. Anne, the Rosary Society, the Baltic Seniors, the Smilers Chorus, the Lisbon Seniors, a member of the Lisbon Democratic Committee, involved with town politics (behind the scene) and The Catholic Singles Group. She loved the outdoors. She grew up on a farm. As an adult she could be found working in her garden, her blueberry patch, her raspberry patch, her flower garden, the chicken coop and even walking around with her Weed Whacker. She enjoyed her cats and dog. She loved to cook and bake. She especially loved her Church and family. Blanche met Francois Gaumond. They were married at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Baltic on May 25, 1946. He died on March 21, 1976. Now she is with him again after 33 years without him. Two children were brought to life from this marriage. Blanche Gaumond with whom she lived (her care-giver) and the Rev. Paul J. Gaumond, pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. She is also survived by two brothers, Philip Gauvin of Tennessee and Joseph Gauvin of Scotland. One sister, Evelyn McFarlane of Baltic. Sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donat and Paul Gauvin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her son on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville meeting directly at church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery Taftville. Calling hours at the Guillot Funeral Home, 75 So. B. St. Taftville will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Parish Life Center, P.O. Box 208, Taftville, CT 06380.
