Otto William Gault, age 89, of Carlton, formerly of Duluth, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008. He was born July 27, 1919 in Wrenshall, MN to Charles and Anna (Ruhnke) Gault and graduated from Wrenshall High School in 1937.
Otto was united in marriage to Myrtle Karhoja on June 3, 1950. He worked as a trucker for Santerre Transfer Co. retiring in 1976. Otto was a member of the West Duluth VFW Post 137, and the Teamsters. He was an avid golfer, and loved gardening, dancing, and traveling to the Rocky Mountains and to Arizona. Otto attended all his sons' sporting events, even to New Mexico.
Otto was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle; one son, Thomas; two brothers, Charlie and August Gault; two sisters, Helen Anderson and Anna Olson.
He is survived by two sons, Douglas Gault of Superior and Stephen (Patricia) Gault of Carlton; one brother, Walter (Norma) Gault of Wrenshall; two sisters, Joyce (Donald) Anderson of Kettle River, MN, and Rae (Kenneth) Meier of Lake Charles, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at the West End VFW Post 137, 2024 West Superior St., Duluth, MN. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care to assist them with arrangements.
