Freda was the daughter of Bryan and Hattie (Boswell) Thompson. She marred Frank William Gatlin, who preceded her in death in May of 1980.
Freda worked several places, including Grants Store in Peoria, Block & Kuhl Department Store in Peoria, Defense Plant in Evansville, Ind., Magnavox plant in Paducah, Ky., and then more than 15 years with the Recorder of Deeds at the Peoria County Courthouse in Peoria. Freda was a homemaker after retiring from Peoria County.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Sandi) Gatlin; a daughter, Krista Gatlin-Gonterman; and four grandchildren, Chad Gatlin, Erika (Josh) Thurman, Ian Gatlin and Manny Gonteman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Rudell Thompson.
