Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie Gathers, 68, wife of Harry Gathers of Sligo who died Monday morning, May 24, in the family home following a short illness, were conducted Thursday afternoon, May 27, in the Gathers' residence with Rev. Elder D. Crawford officiating.
Interment was in the Clarion cemetery.
Mrs. Gathers was born March 18, 1880, in Monroe township, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alphus Fox. She was united in marriage to Harry Gathers on August 1, 1903 and lived in Sligo since that time.
She was a member of the Sligo Presbyterian church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children: Russell Gathers of Vandergrift; Ray Gathers of Curllsville; Walter Gathers of Clarion ad Howard Gathers of Sligo. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. David Courson of Clarion, R. D. 1; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death, Ronald who was killed June 3, 1945, during World War II and Kenneth, who was killed June 5, 1947, in an accident.
