Mrs. Julina C. Gathers, nee Finefrock, wife of Mr. S. R. Gathers, of Clarion, was born August 11, 1846, and died Saturday, May 11, 1912, aged 65 years and 9 months.
She was a daughter of Jacob and Esther Finefrock, of Piney township.
She was married to Samuel Ross Gathers, June 20, 1867, who now survives her with the following children: Mrs. Mary Allison, Kaylor, Pa.; Mrs. Lizzie Cropp, Bradford, Pa.; Mrs. Eva J. Ensley, Connellsville, Pa.; Harry Gathers, Sligo; Mrs. Vernia Watt, South Carolina; Mrs. Stella L. Sweet, Marianna, Pa.; Marshall L. Gathers, Clarion. Besides these children there survive 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Margaret Wensel and Mrs. Lavina Larimer, Sligo; William E. Finefrock of Kane; Thomas J., of Reidsburg; John C., Piney township, and E.E. Finefrock, West Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Gathers was a member of the Methodist church for about 42 years and about 27 years of this time has lived in Clarion and was connected with the Methodist church of this place. The funeral was held in the church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F. S. Neigh pastor, conducting the services and the interment was made in the Clarion cemetery, the following acting pallbearers: T.L. Ray, E.C. Faloon, J. W. Ogden, J.C. Campbell, J.T. Davis and Wm. L. Sansom.
