Lola Faye Cortright, 60, of Roseburg and formerly of the Albany area, passed away Dec. 28, 2006 at a Roseburg hospital.
She was born in DeQueen, Ark., the daughter of Claire and Estie (Baker) Gatchell. She moved with her family to Oregon at the age of 2, settling in Scio. They also lived in the Bend and Redmond areas.
She was living in Albany when she met Richard Cortright. They were united in marriage on July 29, 2000, in Monmouth. They lived in St. George, Utah and Gleneden Beach before moving to Roseburg.
Faye was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very tough and loving lady who was always thinking of others. She enjoyed craftwork, including sewing. She also enjoyed gardening and canning food.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Cortright of Roseburg; her parents, Claire and Estie Gatchell of Albany; and a son, Kenneth Jackson and his wife Brenda of Bend. She also leaves sisters Nona Blakley and her husband Richard of Lebanon, Grace Howell and her husband Tony of Leander, Texas and Mina McCafferty and her husband Barry of Bend. Faye's grandchildren are Kenneth Andrew Jackson of Lebanon, Coty Stephenson of Albany and Ashlie Jackson of Bend. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Julie, preceded her in death.
Her family will be having a celebration of life later this year.
