Mrs. Boyer was born Jan. 20, 1915, in Wynnewood, to Sally and Frank Gassaway and had been a resident of Norman since 1992.
She faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Norman with the help of her neighbor Earl Morren and was a member of the Weaver's Sunday school class.
She was a world traveler to places as far away as Alaska and China, and always stood out in her various choices of hats. She had no children but was highly esteemed by her nieces and nephews for her wisdom and knowledge.
Mrs. Boyer is survived by her two nieces, Danielle Clarke of Estancia, N.M., and Sally VanDyke of Byars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Boyer of Maysville.
Burial will be at the Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette, Calif.
