Family data-- Samuel (1787-1875), Nancy R. (1822-1896, wife of Rufus) and Rufus D. Gaskill (1822-1900) were all buried in the old Upper Waterford Cemetery and moved to Section A, Riverside Cemetery in 1953 when the old cemetery was to be flooded by the Moore hydroelectric dam. Child's 1887 Gazeteer (directory section) says Rufus was a blacksmith in Waterford (that is, Upper Waterford) on Main Street. Samuel probably died in Upper Waterford.
