JONESBORO — Clara M. Gasaway, 86, of Jonesboro entered her new life on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her residence.
She was born July 12, 1921, at Jonesboro into the family of Luke and Lucinda Cash Calkin. She was a homemaker and cook; she loved sewing, cooking and arts and crafts. She was a member of Greensboro Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, John Gasaway Jr. of Mabelvale; two daughters, Rebecca Grimshaw of Conway and Jennifer Walker of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren, Mary Grimshaw, Jenny Walker, Catherine Gasaway and Elizabeth Gasaway; three brothers, Paul Calkin and Will Calkin, both of Jonesboro, and Robert Calkin of Peoria, Ill.; and one sister, Mary Lou Payton of Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Gasaway; a daughter, Bonnie Valenzuela; her parents; and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Greensboro Road Church of Christ with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial will follow in Keller's Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be John Robertson, Bill Berry, Nathan Marshall, Bill Willard, Mike Felts, Marshall Land, Bill Baker, Bill Workman and Bobby Kindle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Church Elders and Leo Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 this evening in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
