MARSHALL, Ill., -- "True Garwood, 76, of Marshall died at 7 p.m. Sunday in Union Hospital at Terre Haute.

He was formerly employed at Ralph Prevo Motor Co. He was born April 8, 1910 in Clark County to Levi Pearce Garwood and Anna Elizabeth Hazen Garwood. Survivors include his wife, Lorene I. Guinnip Garwood, two daughters, Doris Jane Tingley of Terre Haute and Mary Elizabeth Macke of Marshall, one brother Joe of Cincinnati, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

He was formerly employed as a cheesemaker for the Kraft Co., owner-operator of a milk delivery route, Clatfelter Garage and was Marshall city clerk for 20 years. He was a member of First Christian Church. Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Pearce Funeral Home with Brother Loren Hedrick officiating. Burial is in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today."
