Robert served as a Second Lieutenant on RB-24E Liberator (#41-28564), 2115th Base Unit, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Montgomery County, Maryland prior to the war.

Robert died in the "Line Of Duty" when his plane crashed while on a training flight out of Courtland Army Airfield, Alabama, ten miles southeast of Hartselle, Alabama during the war.
