Mrs. Violet Gartin
NOTUS — Mrs. Violet A. Gartin, 54, of Notus, a resident of Idaho for the past 24 years, died early Saturday morning at a Nampa hospital following a long illness.
She was born June 20, 1903, at Mountain Grove, Wright county, Mo., and resided there for 30 years before moving to Notus. She also resided for six years at Parma.
Mrs. Gartin was married Nov. 20, 1924, to Reuben E. Gartin at Mountain Grove, Mo. She was employed for eight years at the Simplot Dehydrating plant until she resigned two years ago because of ill health. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist church, Mountain Grove, and the Union Chapel church No. 2.
Surviving are her husband of Notus; three sons, Wayne A., Frank E. and Doyle D. Gartin, all of Notus; four daughters, Mrs. LaVonna Latimere, Caldwell, Mrs. Betty Scott of Holcomb, Kan., Mrs. Helen McCollum of Boise, and Nancy Ann Garten of Notus; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Ackreman, Nampa; two brothers, Raymond and Irvin Davis, both of Mountain Grove, Mo., and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Flahiff Memorial chapel in Caldwell with the Rev. David Wuth of the Notus Baptist church officiating. Interment will be at Canyon Hill.
