Jennifer Anne Garrott
Jennifer Anne Garrott, the daughter of Fred and Glynna Lisenby Garrott of Winona, was traveling south on 1-55 when her 1988 Honda was struck head on by a northbound 88 model Oldsmobile according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Miss Garrott was taken to the Methodist Hospital in Lexington where she died at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. Miss Garrott was a graduate of Winona High School and the University of Mississippi School of Nursing where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She had served as a Medical Volunteer at the Stew Pot Mission and the Calvary Medical Clinic had been on three medical mission trips, one in Honduras and one in Jamaica. She worked this summer as a medical missionary in India.
Miss Garrott is survived by her father, Fred Garrott; her mother, Glynna Garrott; one brother, Ben Garrott and one sister, Mary Garrott Hunter of Portland, Oregon.
Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Lisenby from Jackson and her paternal grandmother is Mrs. Warren Garrott.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 27, 1993 at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. David Carroll officiating assisted by Rev. Milton Peden and Rev. Jim Barnes. Burial was held in the Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.
Serving as pallbearers were Dave Billingsley, George Harris, Jr., Glenn Bourne, Tommy Wolfe, Bill Lee, Lee Brown, Jack Marshall and Larry Bridges.
Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be sent to Moore Memorial United Methodist Church.
