Edna Barnes The Crossville Chronicle Thu Sep 30, 2010, 03:08 PM CDT Jan. 6, 1919 — Sept. 24, 2010 Edna (Garrett) Barnes, 91, of Crossville, passed away Sept. 24, 2010. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Gunnings Cemetery in Sullivan County, with a memorial service following at Adams Chapel Methodist Church in Sullivan County. The Rev. Billy Byrd will officiate. Mrs. Barnes was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Asheville, NC, the daughter of the late Milton and Ruth (LeSueur) Garrett. She was a member of the Adams Chapel Methodist Church in Sullivan County. Survivors include her daughter, Grace May (Richard) of Crossville; granddaughters, Becky Brown (Andy) of Crossville, Beth May of Winchester, Margaret Barnes of Sarasota, FL, and Gretchen Leclezio (Dominque) of Bradenton, FL; grandsons, Dr. Mack N. Barnes Jr. (Nicky) of Birmingham, AL, and Garrett T. Barnes (Liz) of Bradenton, FL; and sister, Frieda Houston of Piney Flats, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Nathaniel "M. Natt" Barnes; son, Dr. Mack N. Barnes Sr.; brother, Frank Garrett; and sisters, June Vance and Beatrice Bosmer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Bread of Life Mission, 281 W. Fourth St., Crossville, TN 38555. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
