Services for Mrs. Katherine Garrett Berry, 77 years old retired Van Buren, Arkansas school teacher, was scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Dwiggins, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Gracelawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Berry died early Wednesday morning at a local hospital after an extended illness.
A resident of 2719 Oak Lane, she was methematics instructor and study hall supervisor at Van Buren High School until her retirement in 1963.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Milton Garrett, pioneer family of Crawford County and was a member of the First Baptist Church where she belonged to the T. E. L. Sunday School Class.
She was also a member of the Arkansas Pioneer State Association a charter member of the Crawford County Historical Society, a member of Mu Delta Theta; national methmatics society for teachers; and a member of educational Associations on local,state and national levels.
She is survived by three sisters, Willie, Florence and Bernice; a nephew W.A, a Niece, two grand nephews and two grand nieces.
