Nancy was a 1965 graduate of Newport News High School, but her greatest achievement and satisfaction were in the nurture and care of her devoted family. Nancy loved cooking, and was a gracious hostess, and together she and John loved to entertain their family an friends in their home. During her lengthy illness she remained an inspiration to her family and to all who knew her. Throughout her life, Nancy was active and nourished her children in the church, and was a loyal and capable choir and bell choir member. She was an invaluable partner in the family business, Garrett's Glass. Nancy died peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family and friends on Monday afternoon, August 28, 2000.
