Death was instant for Thomas Newton Garnett, aged 67, Saturday shortly after noon at his home, 1223 4th Avenue, South, resulting from a heart attack. Mr. Garnett had not been well for the past two years, but his death was unexpected.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at four o'clock with interment being made at the city cemetery, directed by Spry Funeral Home of Athens.
Services will be conducted by Rev. John C. Cowell Jr, and Rev. Lambuth Archibald.
Mr. Garnett was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Rites To Be Held For T.N. Garnett

Mr. Garnett is survived by his wife; three sons, J.P. Garnett, A.A. Garnett and T.N. Garnett, all of Decatur; four daughters, Mrs. G.T. Hamilton, of Hillsboro, Mrs. Rosella Price of Birmingham, Mrs. Laura McNally, Decatur; Mrs. Etta Louis, Decatur; one brother, A.M. Garnett, of Decatur; four sisters, Mrs. Sallie Sanders, Mrs. Mattie Hogan, Mrs. S. Emens, and Mrs. Eva Farley.
