Ruby Belle Brown, 93, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at her residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 2, at Waco Memorial Park with Chaplain Larry Holder officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Ruby was born in Deport, Texas, to the late William and Novel (Eudy) Garner, the 10th of 11 children. She and her family moved to Waco and she attended Waco Schools. She worked for Dr. Hanks and later worked 25 years for Dr. Neil Simpson as his lab nurse. She married Roy Lee Brown on August 8, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 2002; son-in-law, Donald Chisholm in 2006; great-granddaughter, Kerrie Chisholm; and ten siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Chisholm, of Waco; grandchildren, Jim Chisholm and wife, Terri, Robert Chisholm and partner, Maggie, Scott Smith and wife, Trish, Donna Unger and husband, Bobby, and Judy Rayvon; nine great grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
