Georgia Nell Bridges, 70 of El Dorado went peacefully in the quiet of the night December 28, 2010 as she slept in the comfort of her own home.

Born December 13, 1940 in the New Hope Community of Union County, Arkansas she was the daughter of Irby and Leonia Goff Garner. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado.

She was a homemaker, loved gardening, especially cultivating irises, crocheting, fishing, camping, traveling, reading the Bible, eating out, family gatherings and spending time with her dog, Sadie, who never left her side.

She had recently celebrated her 70th birthday with family and friends and had spent Christmas with her children grandchildren and first great-grandchild before the Lord called her home.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were a son, Merle Edward Bridges and a sister, Mary Ann Burke.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Curtis Milton Bridges of two daughters, Theresa (Jon) Killingsworth of Wesson, and Rhonda (Doug) Cameron, and two sons, Curtis M.(Melinda) Bridges, Jr. wife all of the Parkers Chapel Community and Jimmy (Rysa) Bridges of Westville, Indiana. Also surviving is a sister, Billie Jo (Robert) Pickett of Camden and a brother, Robert L. (JoAnn) Garner and a dear cousin, Juanita Bryant of Dodge City, AR. She had a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Surviving grandchildren are Heather (John) Williams of Little Rock, Chris (Jessica) Bridges, Justin (Cierra) Killingsworth, Daniel (Jennifer) Bridges, Kelli Cameron, and Terri Cameron all of Parkers Chapel and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Jade Bridges.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 31, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Terry Burke and Rev. Alan Womack officiating. Interment will follow in Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
