FROSTBURG,MARYLAND —- Clarence Leslie Garlitz, 95, of Cumberland, MD, and formerly of Frostburg, MD, died Sunday, September 7, 2003, at Cumberland Nursing Home, Cumberland.

Born on August 15, 1908, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Norman C. Garlitz and Rhoda Viola (Robinson) Garlitz. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife, Emma P. (Diehl) Garlitz; one son, Gordon L. Garlitz; one daughter, Carol K. Lashbaugh; three sisters, Pansy Wilson, Evelyn Winebrenner and Mildred Baker, and four brothers, Elmer Garlitz, Esco Garlitz, Vernard Garlitz and Gilbert Garlitz.

Mr. Garlitz was retired as a pan operator with Kaiser Aluminum Refractories after 33 years of employment. He attended the Emmanuel Methodist Church.

Surviving are four grandsons, Phillip Lashbaugh, of Frostburg; Lloyd Lashbaugh, of Hedgesville, W.Va., Harry Garlitz, of Baltimore, Md., and Matthew Lashbaugh, of Frederick, Md.; two granddaughters, Tina Kesner, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Tammy Whisenant, of Baltimore, eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Garlitz and Arvil Garlitz, both of Frostburg, and William Garlitz, of Hagerstown, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Funeral Home Wednesday at 8 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.

Interment will be held in Blocher Cemetery, on Thursday at 10 a.m.
