- FINZEL,MARYLAND -- Pearl Dorothy Garlitz, 75, Finzel, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born June 26, 1924, in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Nannie (Albright) Caton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Garlitz, in 1989; one daughter, Linda Jane Garlitz; one sister, Daisy Brode; and two brothers.
She was retired from the housekeeping department at Meyersdale (Pa.) Hospital. She formerly managed Pearl's Place in Finzel.
She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Finzel.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie K. Bittner, Meyersdale, and Kitty Ann Stakem, Finzel; two sisters, Mabel Clark, Finzel, and Nellie Fleming, Austin, Texas; one brother, Charles Caton, Finzel; and four grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Steve Lightner officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Finzel.
