Adaline Garling, 85, Almena, Wis., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, at Barron Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 16, 1920, at Almena, the daughter of Gottfried and Maria (Wohlk) Koser.

Adaline married Richard Garling on Dec. 13, 1941, at St. Paul, Minn. Her lifelong work was her dedication to her family and her church.

She loved to read and was an avid gardener.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Barron.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Douglas (Barb) of Almena; a daughter, Judy (John) Fairweather of Palouse, Wash.; grandchildren, Kelly, Erinn and Jesse Garling; great-grandchildren, David Johnson and Jayden Garling; step-grandchildren, Simon and Gillie Fairweather; seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosina Kohn of Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents; a sister, Gertrude Miller; and 1 brother, Walter Koser, preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, from First Lutheran Church, Rev. Bruce Beyer officiating, with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Almena, Barron County.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday from Rausch-Rockman Funeral Home, Barron, and an hour prior to services at the church Friday.
