Mary Alarene Baker, 91 of Southaven Mississippi went to be with her Jesus on January 1, 2014. Mrs. Baker was born on December 15, 1922 in Bassett, AR to the late T.E. and Petra Garey. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James W Baker. Survivors include her daughters, Corinne Gregory of Bakersfield, CA, Shirley Lindsey of Southaven, MS and her son, Robert Baker of Olive Branch, MS; Norma Jean Hunter of Memphis; and Dr. Edward Baker of Martin, TN; grandchildren, David and Chris Hatcher, Jim and Preston Lindsey, Kristen McFarland, Robbie Baker, Jennifer Caldwell, Leslie Boag, Jason and Ryan Baker, and Susan and Brian Hunter; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Baker was a member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church, and loved to share with others about her Jesus. She was fondly known as "The Bread Lady" at Seessel's/Schuck's Grocery for 16 yrs. Visitation will be from 12 until 1 p.m. Monday at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Steve Albonetti officiating.
