Shirley Ann Anderson, age 60, of Spring, Texas, was born in Deming, New Mexico. She graduated from Deming High School and attended New Mexico State University. She moved to the Houston area in 1968 and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She was a special education teacher at Raul Martinez Elementary in Houston ISD and loved teaching disabled and autistic children. She was a member of Spring Baptist Church and the Master Vessels Sunday school class.
She is survived by her husband Neal Anderson, of Spring; a son and daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters; her mother and stepfather; a brother and two sisters-in-law, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Gene Gardner; her step-father Kenneth Coots and her brother Roy Gardner.
The funeral service was on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Spring Baptist Church in Spring, Texas, with reception at the church for friends and family immediately after the service. Private interment was at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
