Arthur E. Gardiner Passes Away After Lingering Illness of Several Months.

After a lingering illness of seven months the community was greatly saddened last week by the death of Arthur E. Funeral services were held in the Naples Ward Chapel, December 19, at one o'clock p.m. The chapel was filled with sorrowing relatives and friends. The floral offerings were profuse showing great love and esteem for the departed.

The music was furnished by a double mixed quartet and the speakers were Jacob W. Olsen, Ed Watkins Sr., President Ernest Eaton, Lavell Manwaring. The grave in the Vernal Cemetery was dedicated by John N. Davis.

Arthur Edward Gardiner was born in Chalford, Gloucestershire, England, December 1, 1861, the son of William and Lydia Roberts Gardiner. He and his two sisters, Anna and Emily left Liverpool, England July 2, 1873 for America in company with Anna Watts who became the wife of Jos. H. Gardiner.
